It is voted best brunch in Montreal every year in the Mirror’s Best of Montreal poll. If you are not convinced, you can check out the lineup outside Sunday mornings. The food served is standard deli food : sandwiches, breakfast items such as eggs, pancakes, bacon served with hash browns and a side of bagel. The portions are large, the coffee refilled often. The decor is similar to a classic 50’s diner. There aren’t many tables in the restaurant (which explain the frequent line-ups) and they can’t sit more than 6 people at one table. There’s also a counter if you are eating alone.
What surprises me about this place is the contrast between the simple, homey image and some very commercial aspects like the trademark sign next to items on the menu and the sale of souvenirs at the cash register. The service is efficient and, in some case, army like. And yes, there are a lot of celebrities, mostly local, eating there. Everyone I know that ate there have stories of celebrity sightings. What about the food? It’s good, but I have eaten at other restaurants that are similar or even better (like Bagels etc.), people go to Beauty’s for the experience more than the food. Open Mon-Fri 7am-4pm, Sat 7am-5pm, Sun 8am-5pm.
