Former Degrassi actor charged with murder .

TORONTO – A former child actor on The Kids of Degrassi Street and Degrassi Junior High has been charged with second-degree murder..

Tyson Talbot, 30, is facing charges related to the kicking death of a Toronto man..

Christopher Shelton, 23, died early Friday in a Toronto hospital after being kicked in the head at a restaurant near Broadview Avenue and Gerrard Street..

Toronto police said Shelton was leaving the restaurant when a man hit him, knocking him unconscious. The man then allegedly kicked Shelton in the head..

Autopsy results show Shelton died of blunt force trauma..

Talbot played Billy Taylor in The Kids of Degrassi Street during the early 1980’s. He appeared as Jason Cox for three episodes on Degrassi Junior High. .

He made a court appearance Monday and will remain in custody until Dec. 13. .
