Released Early Sunday Morning
TORONTO — (MARKET WIRE) — 01/30/2005 — It is with
great sadness that we report that early Saturday
morning, Halifax born, Toronto-based actor Darryl
Armstrong (23) allegedly committed suicide by jumping
off a bridge on Mount Pleasant Rd. in Toronto. He was
pronounced dead on arrival. Peel Regional Police
continues its investigation.

It is with great sorrow that we extend our condolences
and our deep-felt sympathy to his entire family. He
will be missed not only by his friends and co-workers
but also by the cast and crew of Showcase’s “Queer as
Folk” and “Degrassi Junior High.”

Mr. Armstrong believed that acting was a noble
calling. His belief in the ability to bring humour and
emotion across the small screen and his passion for
his job and the people around him was unwavering.

He was one of the brightest emerging stars on
television and we will all miss him dearly.
