Canada AM host Bev Thompson got inside the world of “Degrassi: The Next Generation” with a personal tour from two of the show’s stars.
Led by Adamo Ruggiero (Marco) and Stacey Farber (Ellie), Thompson toured many of the familiar places set inside the Degrassi Community School.
The series is primarily staged on the lot of Toronto’s Epitome Pictures, Inc.
While guiding Thomspon through hallways lined with lockers, the cast became nostalgic while visiting the “Media Immersion” classroom.
“It’s like we finished high-school for the second time,” says Ruggiero, whose character on the show is now attending university.
“When we were kids, this is where all our scenes would be, sending romantic emails.”
The trio later took visited some building exteriors, with stops at the set of Emma’s house and the cafeteria.
“We had a food fight in here once, and that was the greatest time of my life,” remembers Ruggiero.
Thompson noted that the cafeteria was well stocked.
“Its fake food,” Farber is quick to point out, noting that the fake apples were incredibly light.
The tour finished when Ruggiero showed Thompson one of the show’s prized possessions, a Teen Choice Award that the series won in 2005.
“Degrassi: The Next Generation” has returned to CTV with an action-packed seventh season. The show airs Monday nights at 7:30 p.m.
