Linda Schuyler’s career goes under the spotlight in an upcoming special presentation by CTV’s eTalk.
Billed as “Live at eTalk: Linda Schuyler,” the creator of both the original “Degrassi” and “Degrassi: The Next Generation” will take part in an intimate and interactive celebration of her work.
Schuyler is the executive producer of “Degrassi: The Next Generation.”
The series follows the lives of teens growing up on their journey through school and beyond. The show is best known for its unflinching portrayal of teen life, addressing issues such as rape, homosexuality, suicide, eating disorders, drugs, school shootings, and murder.
“Degrassi” originally aired in the 1980s, and returned to television in 2001 as “Degrassi: The Next Generation” on CTV.
Cast members of “Degrassi: The Next Generation,” “Instant Star” and “Degrassi Junior High” are scheduled to appear at the event, which will be held on Thursday, July 24 at 3:30 p.m. ET.
eTalk is offering Degrassi fans in the Toronto area a chance to be a part of the live studio audience for this exciting tribute.
Tickets are free, however requests for tickets must made in advance by emailing etalkaudience@ctv.ca or calling 1-866-460-4797. Audience members are asked to check in at 2:30 p.m. at the front doors of 299 Queen St. West on the day of the event.
Season seven of “Degrassi: The Next Generation” recently wrapped up on CTV, and production of season eight is currently underway in Toronto.
“Degrassi” is also nominated for a 2008 Teen Choice Award.
