Degrassi kids take on Hollywood
Canada’s beloved television teen drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation has spawned a movie offshoot.
Titled Degrassi Goes Hollywood, the two-hour film was shot in Toronto and Los Angeles last fall.
It takes the TV characters to Tinseltown where Manny and Paige, played by Toronto actresses Cassie Steele and Lauren Collins, try to launch acting careers.
Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton and rocker Pete Wentz of Fall Out Boy have cameo roles.
The movie will air on the N channel in the U.S. in August and on CTV at an undetermined date.
Degrassi Goes Hollywood now has a trailer on YouTube.
Degrassi: The Next Generation finished airing its eighth television season earlier this year.
